River House Circa late 1800’s	River House today

The River House was built in the late 1800’s above the confluence of the Illinois and Mississippi rivers next door to the Grafton School.  Over the years many Grafton residents resided in this charming little home and it later became known as a honeymoon resort. The house sat high above the spring floods yet close enough to the main street to be within walking distance of Grafton merchants and services.

Today the River House has been completely renovated with modern amenities while retaining its old world charm and authentic beauty making it the perfect place to relax, read, write, reflect and unwind.
